Hehehehe!!! Good stuff! Nice find, btw…
The Standard Deviant
Evidence that all the accoutrements were just for show!
Selmac
What was that guy strapping to his face in the beginning?
Doctor Love

It holds down his porno French mustache.

Pataphysician
Coincidently, I've been watching this new Jean Renoir set of rare, lesser works from throughout his career. Great stuff. A real bargain, too. $20 for 3 discs (that's about 4 Euros to you, Frenchie), 7 movies, most are feature-length.
Marc
Has been on Luc's website for a long time.
Check out the other ones: Heure Verte (French Cancan is very nice).
Steve
I loved the French Cancan clip so much, I bought the DVD on eBay. I loved the movie.
Absomphe
Classy bunch.

At least the one guy only lights his cigarette, and not his drink.

Great stuff, Peter! abs-cheers.gif
Rimbaud
Nice trick. Man doesn't fuck around.
Absomphe

Donnie Darko
Holy shit, how you been?

Holy shit, how you been?

Hey all! Been in school for the last 2 years (DD knows this already). Gettin' married in a month. Life's-a-changin'! Crazy shit.
Donnie Darko
Yep, big changes afoot. We might be moving out to Queens in February….
Absomphe
Ah, the old stomping ground of my misspent youth.

What neighborhood?
Donnie Darko
Jackson Heights, probably, though Rimmy's hood of Astoria isn't out of the question. Gotta save some $.
Patlow
There is a pizza place called, Sac's in Astoria. All-time great pie!
absinthist
Beware! Helfrich is readin' ya and he is crazy as regards pizza evill.gif
Rimbaud
Astoria is better! Move to Astoria!

abs-cheers.gif
Rimbaud
Patlow, whereabouts is Sac's? My favorite pizza joint in Astoria is Rizzo's on Steinway near 28th Ave. Family-owned since 1959!
Absomphe
I loved Rizzo's back in the 60s, and early 70s.

I agree, Rimmy, Astoria's better, although, other than Italian food, I generally liked the restaurants in Jackson Heights more. Of course, that was ages ago, Astoria may have broadened its gastronomic repertoire a bit.
Rimbaud
Actually, I've only been to Jackson Heights once or twice (for Indian food). I just want Donnie to move nearby so I have a buddy in the hood.

Astoria's got a decent array of eateries these days. There's an amazing Egyptian joint half a block from me, a French/Italian bistro that I love, a great panini shop, an East Village-style rock n' roll bar, the old beer garden (Bohemian Hall) and a million & one Greek restaurants. It's not Manhattan, but it's not exactly awful…
Absomphe
Wow, sounds like Astoria's come a long way from Dito Montiel's hood, fo' rizzle.
Patlow
Sac's is 2541 Broadway and from what I remember it was like RIGHT off of the 31st Metro stop. Like RIGHT there. Man, I miss that pie!

Wait, here is a link…

Rimbaud
Thanks, I will definitely check it out!
absinthist
Wait, here's a pic:

Looks really like an excellent pizza should. The mushrooms are properly prepared, so is pepperoni, the crust is neither too thick nor too thin (just like a louche evill.gif ) and topping is nicely-arranged, quite appetizing, reminds me of ordering pizza from my "Dexter" soon.
Absomphe
You order your pizza from a t.v. serial killer?

Must be good!
Jaded Prole
Gives new meaning to Killer Pizza . . .
absinthist
Agreed on both. They have had only one period when they were saving on the ingredients but in the recent times they returned in full swing-one of the few pizzerias that still is not charging for transport which notabene takes them no longer than 30 mins.
Rimbaud
What the heck is "notabene?"
Absomphe
I'm not sure, but I think they only put it on Polish pizzas.
absinthist
Although:

[Latin not bene, note well : not, sing. imperative of notre, to note + bene, well.]

I am buying Old Man's theory as valid. In Polish pizzeria, everything is possible.
Rimbaud
Gotcha. Thanx.
Provenance
It usually is Latin for "note well" is abreviated as N.B. and is tacked on at the end of a letter similar to PS. What tits means is anyone's guess.
Tibro
As usual.
The Standard Deviant
It doesn't need to be put on the end of a letter at all, although that is a possible use. The usage is more like that of 'e.g.' and 'i.e.' in that it is used in context, e.g.

"Forms are required to be returned before Monday. (N.B. the office will close for the weekend at 3 p.m. on Friday afternoon)."

Essentially a pro-active PTFA.
Rimbaud
I've been meaning to ask…have you stolen Jack Batemaster's moustache?

Who?

It's a holdover from days and forums past.

And he was joking about "who" the fuck is Jack Batemaster?

You mispelled "buried"

He hasn't changed that much since we last spoke. Hopefully, he will return.

I figured I'd clarify just in case.

Dig?
Absomphe
"You misspelled buried".

No, OCD, not in Grant's Tomb.

Yes, it's sad, isn't it, Mthuilli?

Even that cut and paste babe seems to have flown the coop now.
G&C
She's still there.

She just shaved the 'stash.
Absomphe
Ah, that explains why I didn't recognize her without that incredible disguise!
