Rimbaud
Yo Peter, give us a shout out!
Rimbaud
I hear crickets.
Provenance
Rimbaud
Thank you. It was getting lonely in here.
pierreverte
The VP 65 is in transit to the USA right now. Hopefully on shelves by mid-November.
Patlow
I just hope it makes it to my shelf!!!
Shabba53
Me too!
hartsmar
I need to move to the states
Tibro
They're not going to ship all of it over to the wrong shore, are they?
Donnie Darko
Well, I can get Lucid as well as a lot of other crapsinthe in most liquor stores in NYC now, so I'm hoping VP will show up here.
Provenance
Why isn't it available in Europe?
Steve

If Sarah Palin becomes president, I'll trade places with you!
hartsmar
Or you could just bring a bottle and come visit.
Steve
Yeah but I probably can't afford it now. frusty.gif
Rimbaud
Will the VP be available in NY?

(That's "Vieux Pontarlier," not "Vice President")

Why isn't it available in Europe?
Since when isn't Pontarlier in Europe anymore?
Provenance
Pontarlier was put up as collateral on a bad loan. It's being repossessed.
Absinthia
I failed to taste it or get a bottle of it at the Pernot place, despite your praises, Zenzero. Perhaps I can have one sent home…
Zenzero
Just say when…
Marc

Why isn't it available in Europe?

Because it's crap for the US goth crowd only.
Wild Bill Turkey
Somehow I doubt that.
Zenzero
It smells a lot louder than any other anise booze I heard before.
Patlow
Synesthesia?

I don't.

Ain't the goth crowd about to have two 'brands' especially devoted to them already?
Jaded Prole
I'm looking forward to a chance to try the Faux Pontarlier.
Wild Bill Turkey
I'm cornfused.
I assumed Marc's comment about "crap for the US goth market" not being available in Europe was intended to mean the Lucid, which was mentioned in the post before it, when in fact the question about European availability was directed towards the Vieux Pontarlier.

I doubt the VP was intended for the goth crowd in any country, with its old-world packaging and what I'm expecting to find as a flavor profile. Not sure why Provenance agrees with Marc that it's crap for that crowd. Marc has tasted it, I'm sure, and I respect his opinion, but I still think he was talking about something else.
Provenance
That or sarcasm doesn't translate well on the board.

The perfect description of what happens when you drink too much white lightning.
Wild Bill Turkey
Gotcha. My bad. It's just that I wouldn't have been surprised to hear that for real.
Provenance
Nor would I.
Marc
Only sarcasm Bill (or more a private joke with Peter & John in fact).
I've been at the distillery twice this year and did not get the chance to try it, it's like the most protected stuff coming out of Pernot.
So really I can't wait to hear your impartial comments guys.

Hallucinating out loud!

Glad to hear that it's not spreading disease.

And still hasn't wrapped its balz™
even after a publik announcement.
Donnie Darko
Where's them Hessians when you need 'em?
Steyr850
Covering up ain't their strong suit.

Obviously.
Grim
When's the next batch of VP going to be distilled?
Patlow
From what I've seen, when the cows come home.

We are currently awaiting the arrival of our Double-Gold Medal French absinthe, Vieux Pontarlier, which should be shipped to distributors and retailers in the second half of November. We will let you know when it becomes available.

Steve
Vieux Pontarlier now available for pre-sale at DUNY, expected in-stock Dec. 1, sale price $64.99 (750 ml). ("Product of Switzerland" um, no.)

Also Duplais, expected in-stock Nov. 21, sale price $71.99 (750 ml).
absinthist
Why Vieux Pontarlier is "Product of Switzerland"?

Nice louche, though.

Zman, I think we need to start charging more for our absinthe.

What have you been charging for it?
dakini_painter
I haven't been charging anything because it's not approved or even made yet (except for the experimental batch to TTB for their analysis pleasure).
Donnie Darko
So in other words it's free. Yeah, you should charge more.

Like the website by the way, I had only seen the splash page before, it's fun to navigate.
Green Baron
Yes, nice design. I love the artistic navigation as well. Great colors.
Steyr850
Yeah, I'm liking the size of that bottle.

Short, phat, and squatty,
all ass and no body.
