How does it relate to the current xit? Or is it just a coincidence?
absinthist
Looks like the current xit has stolen the idea, graphics, name, the slogan apart from quality from that:

Current xit? Stolen?
Pere Kermann is one of the oldest, most respected names in distilling history, and their tradition of making absinthe goes back quite a long way, as you can see. They were making their "Very Special Old Teal" absinthe with its characteristic breath-rinse flavor before it became fashionable, when everybody else was still filling giant solera-casks with the same peridot-colored anise bombs.

Ha!

"Very Special Old Teal"?

Ah, yes, it was great, great grandma's hair rinse, and her everyday assbath, as well.

Nothing like that Belle Epoque ingenuity, coupled with frugality. chickawow.gif
Tibro
Teal + tansy = peridot ?
absinthist
They are rather not that similar, teal is more bluish whereas tansy yields more of a greenish one; still you might be right (Apocalypse: I am agreeing with Tibro). Also, you cannot rule out there was no tansy in the original Kermann.
