Helfrich Verte 13 sept 08

Is it:
Un Emile
Artisinale
Helfrich
F Guy?
Donnie Darko
I'd guess:
F. Guy
Artisinale
Helfrich
F Guy

I am curious though as to the model of your experiment. The L'Artisinale is 3 years old now. Was it 3 years old in that photo or was it new? I'm assuming those were all taken when the absinthes were new?
eric
I would say the second one is Helfrich, and the third one is l'Artisanale.

For me:

UE
Helf
L'A
Guy
Provenance
Real absinthe doesn't change color.
Patlow
Really?
Absomphe
Um, no.
Provenance
cre·du·li·ty n.
A disposition to believe too readily.

Yeah, like you would know the difference.

From the title, I thought this was going to be Hartsmar's birthday thread.

What I thought too, I don't remember l'Artisanale being that green (pic 2). And I guess UE is 1 and the clearer (n°4) is FG.

I remember the original UE being amber colored.

Somebody must've found a functional colorator. wink.gif

Or read the protocols carefully.

I also remember UE68 being a light amber….to the extent I remember anything.
absinthist
Pro, do you remember da louche of the original UE? chickawow.gif
Provenance
It louched like water.

Helfrich was the easiest of the bunch to spot, that's for sure. I've had one bottle that was colored actually fairly dark (but I enjoyed the taste intensity) and another where the color seemed about perfect standard verte green.

I had one of those UE68 minis last summer, and while it went slightly more amber than the pics, it definitely didn't fade significantly in the 6 months I had it. (semi OT: Compared to older reviews, there were several fronts in which I think they have made improvements.)

I had some L'Artisianale proto from 2006 not too long ago and it looked about like Ed's pic.

Anyway, never had a naturally colored verte go completely blanche on me before (but then, the longest I've kept anything without drinking it all is around 8-12 months).
