I don't get a lot of spam; Earthlink does a good job of staying on top of it (they even blocked Tibro recently).
But today they failed (again - no reason to block Tibro). I got some crap pretending to be from a court and it had an attachment, supposedly with details. Of course I never open emails from unknown sources, much less attachments thereto. I sent it to Earthlink fraud department, but here is the gist of what I learned about the scam:

I prefer not being reminded. And I'm pretty sure he feels the same. So, maybe there are reasons to block me.

I thought Earthlink predated search engines. Me and my buddy had so much fun trying to guess the names of web sites.

That's must be one of the reasons it's exceptional.

Earthlink is an ISP; one of the first ones. It's cheap and it's functional. One of the best things about it is they provide throw-away email addresses, not linked to your real one, that can be furnished to people you don't trust.
In the old days I used Alta Vista for searches. It was possible to put in a subject and get no results, not through any failing of the search engine, but because everything about everything wasn't online yet back then.
I don't like Google, but it works.
As for the Lounge, I seem to remember it was hijacked by Russian scam artists - maybe Opie moved to Russia to plot his revenge?
