Its balanced mildness and digestibility go back to a recipe from the 19th Century, according to which absinthe was brewed assiduously from fresh wormwood by our founding company in Essen."

COLOR BEFORE WATER 3/10
It’s green yellowish. Very green yellowish. Clearly unnatural.

LOUCHE ACTION 5/10
A quick very pretty bright green oily louche fills the glass. A little too quick...

COLOR AFTER WATER 7/10
Very beautiful. Unnatural, but pretty nonetheless.

AROMA 9/30
An intense medical alcoholic, anise, fennel smell. Not entirely unpleasant though.

MOUTH-FEEL 3/10
Not something you would roll around your mouth twice.

TASTE 8/20
Anise, fennel, mint and alcohol. Not that interesting.

OVERALL IMPRESSION 5/10
Not that bad really. Not good enough for me to buy it again, but pleasant enough that I finished the bottle (over a year).

… It’s absinth.

COLOR BEFORE WATER 6/10
A very appealing green but too luminously vibrant. Clearly artifical coloring adding that unnatural neon glow.

LOUCHE ACTION 5/10
Very nice but heavily enhanced from badiane extracts.

COLOR AFTER WATER 6/10
More natural now than before adding water actually. Quite nice.

AROMA 13/30
Before water it presents a very medicinal nose with hints of loq-quality fennel, wormwood and melissa extracts. Star anise clearly present and a sweetness hits the nose. After adding water it's mainly the star anise that stays.

MOUTH-FEEL 4/10
Nice and smooth at first but breaks up ina numbing star anise/citrus/mint explosion which leaves a sugary oily film in the mouth. Nasty.

TASTE 8/20
It could be much worse but it has the typical oily taste of essences mixed with the excessive sugary sweetness. Way too much citrus and star anise with no balance at all.

OVERALL IMPRESSION 4/10
Might do well in clubs, but it doesn't do much good to me. It will be left on the bottom shelf, again. This time I'll leave it long enough for the screw cap to be un-openable from all the sugar.
