Description: This is the higher proof version of the infamous Segarra Absenta. Absinthe Segarra 68 at Absinthes.com

COLOR BEFORE WATER 4/10
Very pale green, almost clear.
LOUCHE ACTION 8/10
Nice thick louche. Full and dramatic.
COLOR AFTER WATER 5/10
White with just a hint of green.
This stuff really smells good. Predominate brandy aromas and subtle herbal notes.
Full bodied but unfortunately has an obtrusive bite in the finish.
Tastes exactly like the 45° except with an undesireable bitterness.
OVERALL IMPRESSION 4/10
This seems to be the same product as the 45° but has been colored with A absinthium which produces an unacceptable bitterness in the finish. A shame really.
I would recommend the 45° version over this product. It is too bad because I would really like it if it did not have such a nasty bitterness in the finish.

COLOR BEFORE WATER 3/10
Almost transparent but with a very thin light green shade.
LOUCHE ACTION 8/10
Nice and thick louche building into a complete opaque.
COLOR AFTER WATER 7/10
Almost entirely white but with that light green still showing.
It starts out nice witha brand like aroma mixed with green anise. But it is soon overpowered by a really irritating woody smell.
A smooth start which is rather full bodied and enjoyable. This is soon interupted with a distinct bitterness and dryness.
It is a decent absinthe below this terrible Ordinaire's Blunder coloration. The bitter finish just completely ruins this.
OVERALL IMPRESSION 2/10
To think that someone who usually makes a simple yet quite decent absinthe (the segarra 45) would do this...?! There is no need for this product to be on the market, really.
This bottle has been in my cabinet for roughly three years now. The ageing hasn't done it any good at all, but neither did it do it any worse.
