COLOR BEFORE WATER 10/10
It's crystal clear, as wanted.

LOUCHE ACTION 6/10
A bit fast but steady going and a nice clouding.

COLOR AFTER WATER 8/10
Thick white with a slightly greyinsh tone. Not bad at all.

AROMA 25/30
Before water is added there's a very nice blend of wormwood, fennel and something that may be coriander hiding in the back. After adding water it instead presents a very fresh minty profile with wormwood coming through and a hint of lemon.

MOUTH-FEEL 7/10
A nice and creamy and rather rich mouth that goes well with what would be expected from the nose.

TASTE 14/20
This is actually where the DuVallon is a little disappointing. The taste is not at all as complex as the aroma lend you to believe. A lot of the complexity and floral notes go missing here. Anise and star anise come through here, not too much but with much of the expections from the arome gone missing it's just not enough.

OVERALL IMPRESSION 6/10
It's a nice La Bleue, no doubt. It's a slight step away from the more ordinary La Bleues and on the whole a good product. The taste is, as said, sadly not as great as I had expected it to be but certainly not bad. It's a nice absinthe.
