Review:

Reviewed by Hartsmar 8/30/2005

COLOR BEFORE WATER 10/10
It's perfectly clear.

LOUCHE ACTION 7/10
Not as good as the other Valotes. It's nice and white but a little less thick.

COLOR AFTER WATER 7/10
Greyish blue-white of some kind. A thicker louche would improve it.

AROMA 14/30
Not that much going on. It doesn't have the richness and floral character of the other Valotes.

MOUTH-FEEL 5/10
Ordinary

TASTE 12/20
It's drinkable but nothing special.

OVERALL IMPRESSION 5/10
Very ordinary and mediocre. They should put all their energy into the other two Valotes instead and improve them further.

Clear

LOUCHE ACTION 7/10
Clouds up quickly and thickly

COLOR AFTER WATER 7/10
Opaque, unremarkable color

AROMA 21/30
Predominantly anise, detectable citrus tones probably from melissa

MOUTHFEEL 7/10
Slight tongue numbing, relatively thin

TASTE 12/20
OK but unspectacular

OVERALL IMPRESSION 6/10
No major flaws but nothing too distinctive either

COLOR BEFORE WATER 10/10
A very standard clean clear color of the Swiss Absinthe.

LOUCHE ACTION 7/10
A slow louche action starting from the bottom slowly moving upwards.

COLOR AFTER WATER 7/10
I am not sure if it is the glass or lighting but it seems to have a slightly less louche than a standard La Bleue.

AROMA 22/30
Has unquestionably a less rich smell, very mellow anis aroma. but it tells me there will be a bit more bite than other Swiss absinthes on the market.

MOUTH-FEEL 7/10
A slight dry felling to it, with a lingering tingling sensation on the crown of the mouth.

TASTE 15/20
Low anis flavor with a rebellious bite to it, kind of fun because it allows me to actually use sugar with it.

OVERALL IMPRESSION 7/10
It is defiantly fun and I am glad to have been able to add it to my repertoire of absinthe.

Clear

LOUCHE ACTION 10/10
Quick, but doesn't get that opaque as others

COLOR AFTER WATER 8/10
Slightly chalky blueish tinge

AROMA 23/30
Anisy to the fore, not complex but clean

MOUTH-FEEL 8/10
Spicy with nice fennel in the front

TASTE 10/20
I am not impressed, lacks definitely something

OVERALL IMPRESSION 0/10
La bleue that needs work, still the direction is right just the corner
