COLOR BEFORE WATER 10/10
LOUCHE ACTION 8/10
Not exactly dramatic or anything but ends up in a nice thick louche.
COLOR AFTER WATER 9/10
a very good white with just a slight hint of greyish blue.
Before water: A nice character of wormwood and fine fennel and hyssop up front and with a nice addition of anise, oranges and coriander lingering, waiting to break out.
After water: It smoothens out but lets the coriander and oranges break through a bit more. Nicely done and makes you want to drink it...
A very full, rich and smooth mouth-feel. The slight numbing of the tongue is just on the right side of the edge and the star anise is nicely balanced not to take up too much space.
A fine selection of quality herbs and especially herbs not very common in most absinthes. This contributes to an interesting character and one of the more unique blanches I've had in a long time.
Anise, fennel, coriander and wormwood up front with that bit of oranges and cardamom to make the christmas spirit come to life.
OVERALL IMPRESSION 8/10
Very nice - this could easily be a "regular" that would stand out of the other mainstream blanches. An interesting and good product.
I got this bottle in December 2006, pretty much unaged. It is now empty and the last glass was used to make this review. During those three months it had developed a lot and I wish I had another bottle...
